Texts, emails, calendar reminder, phone calls, someone liked your Facebook post, new Instagram follower, Linkedin request, new stories on Snapchat, breaking news, new music on SoundCloud, SportsCenter top plays, iOS/Android update, new video from your favorite YouTube channel, tweets you missed, must-listen podcasts, Venmo request, rate your Uber driver, free Postmates delivery promo.

You are drowning in fucking notifications at all times.

How are you supposed to deal with this?

Option 1: Stop what you’re doing every 3 minutes to check the notification on your phone.

Option 2: LET THEM WAIT!

How are you going to get anything deeply meaningful done without focusing for an extended period of time, uninterrupted?

When your phone goes off, ask yourself:

- Is this an emergency? If it’s not, proceed to the next question.

2. What will happen if I respond to this in an hour?

Nothing will happen.

Don’t be a slave to your notifications.
